Halloween, Nanowrimo and tarot- o my!

O, my blog friends, have you missed a lot! LOL

Through all my various projects, I have neglected you, and for that I am sorry. But here’s a recap.

In October, I decided it would be fun to host a history tour and ghost hunt. For some unknown reason, my husband and the town agreed, so off we went. We also had trick-or-treating, our regular ‘lives’, work, a story I was finishing and editing and I volunteered to write for Main Street. Glutton for punishment, that’s me!

Halloween was fab and the tour was a huge hit, so I can’t really complain.

Meanwhile, I also started work on my very own ‘tarot’-type deck of cards called the Gypsy Road. You can check it out at the website I put up, while I’m finishing the card layout for the printer. Speaking of those layouts…

The idea is to create a set of prototype decks, which will be sent out to some brave individuals who have volunteers to test the cards. The printer has agreed to a short run, and the production cost is within budget. Fantastic!

Well, not quite. The layout of the cards is fighting back. In order to be sure that each card falls where it is supposed to during printing, its required an entire day for one sheet of cards- and I have four to go. Which means that the simple process of taking the (already created) artwork and dropping it into the layout files will not be done until Tuesday at the earliest, since I have an out of town wedding to go to this weekend.

When I’d reached that fine line between sanity and a meltdown, my husband swooped in and took me out to lunch. I feel better now, and even though I really wanted to have these files to the printer today, I know a couple days delay won’t hurt anything, since we’re already ahead of schedule.

Did I mention I still have to design the box? LOL
